LEWISTON — Rev. Louis J. Fortier Council 106 will sponsor a benefit spaghetti supper for the Labrecque family from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Holy Cross Church Basement on Lisbon Street.

They will be serving spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and beverage. There will be raffles from donations from the area community and family and friends and a 50/50 will also be held during the evening.

Mary Ellen Labrecque, 44, had a massive heart attack at the beginning of March. The damage to her heart put her in critical condition at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where she was put on life support and placed in an induced coma.

Her heart was only beating at a sixth of its capacity so they needed to do open heart surgery to insert bi-VAD pumps to do the work of the heart for her to give her heart a rest. She will be on these pumps until her heart either heals or she qualifies for a heart transplant. She is progressing well at the hospital and is awake now and in good spirits.

Mary Ellen and her husband Bruce adopted four beautiful children, some of whom have special needs. In order to bring her home to her family, there needs to be some work done at their home in Greene. The funds raised will help the family with all medical needs in the future.

Advance tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. Tickets are available at Great Falls Credit Union on Bates Street, Lewiston, and Minot Avenue, Auburn, or by calling Leo Baillargeon at 784-0389 or 577-7424, Richard Mercier at 783-7560 or Vickie Rucker at 576-8999. Tickets at the door will be $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under.

To donate something for the raffle contact Gail Baillargeon at 784-0389, Cecile Langlois at 784-3491 or Anita Grenier at 782-4516.
