RUMFORD — During story time at the Rumford and Dixfield public libraries this month, parents can attend a brief informational meeting on lead poisoning prevention.

The Rumford session will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, and the Dixfield session is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 20.

Free information on how to make a home lead-safe and how to keep children safe from lead will be provided during the hour that children are with the librarians, Patricia Duguay, executive director of the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, stated in a recent news release.

The sessions are sponsored by the coalition with funding from the Maine Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, .
