Wednesday night, former Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe joined Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central to discuss her new book, “Fighting for Common Ground: How We Can Fix the Stalemate in Congress.”
Snowe and Stewart spoke about the lack of bipartisanship in American government and trying to find ways to fix the system and work together. Snowe expressed the importance of “speaking up” and calling members of congress.
Snowe went on to discuss Accountability Review Boards and ways to progress in the wake of the Benghazi attacks.
When Stewart asked Snowe if she had hopes to push past the “political angles” and make sure the mistakes never happen again, she replied, “That’s what has to happen … It’s all about getting and seeking the truth. Bipartisanship should be about seeking the truth.”
