Students at Cape Cod Hill School in New Sharon collected more than 347 nonperishable food items and paper products this week. Bob Peary, in the truck, a school duty monitor and member of the United Methodist Church in New Sharon, organized the school drive to coincide with the church’s food drive to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the church. Students graphed their progress as a school and by classroom each day. Ross McCormick, standing, another member of the church, helps pack his truck Friday. The items will go to the Clearwater Food Pantry in Industry, which serves families in Chesterville, Industry and New Sharon.
