1937 – 2013

WATERVILLE — Fay F. Watson, 75, of Poland, died on Sunday, May 12, at Thayer Hospital in Waterville.

She was born in Lewiston on June 11, 1937, the daughter of Donald Trafford and Edith (McCleary) Trafford. Fay attended the Empire School and the Minot Corner School, graduating from Edward Little High School, Class of 1955. She joined the Army after high school and served in Japan.

Fay worked at the Lewiston Raceway, Maine Motel and Cabins, Ames, Gould and Scammon, Darling’s Auto and Lee Auto. She also was an Avon Representative.

Fay had many hobbies, including knitting and crocheting beautiful afghans and clothing for pillow dolls. She also made very nice beaded Christmas ornaments, bracelets and little angels. Many evenings were spent playing cards with Joe, Chuckie and Lois. Fay absolutely adored her cats, Maurice and Muffin. They were her kids.

She also loved her flower gardens and watching the birds in her backyard. Now who is going to pick all of the blackberries with her sister, Bea?

Fay was in long-term relationships with Douglas Salley and Melvin Nelson.
