RANGELEY PLANTATION — A Franklin County deputy is investigating a break-in at a camp on Shelton Trail in which items that included camping gear, alcohol and a knife were stolen.
Entry was forced, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said Tuesday.
Deputy Nicholas Zecher reported a backpack, hiking boots, a headlight and clothing were taken, Nichols said. The break-in occurred between May 21 and Saturday night.
There are no leads at this time, he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Zecher at the Sheriff’s Department at 778-2680.
In another incident, Deputy Christopher Rhinhart is investigating an entry into a camp on Glidden Road in Eustis, Nichols said.
The owner came up for the holiday weekend and noticed items had been moved around in the camp, he said.
There were no signs of forced entry and nothing appears to have been taken at this time, he said.
