Deraspe is a retired SAD 9 teacher and retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Army and Maine Air National Guard. He is a 40-year resident of Farmington, Garland Pond, and Byron.
Deraspe said that painting brings him into another world, just like reading a good book. He enjoys the concentration, frustration and sometimes the satisfaction.
SugarWood Gallery is at 248 Broadway. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
