Gifford’s Ice Cream 13, Austin Associates 2
AUBURN — Gifford’s Ice Cream came out with hot bats and a solid defense in a 13-2 win over Austin Associates. Gifford’s got a big day out of Jacob Schofield who cracked two hits and had three RBI’s. His brother Jared also drove in two runs to add to the Gifford’s cause. Daniel Cifelli slapped a hit through the drawn- in infield scoring two and Chris Ivers got a big single to keep a rally alive for Gifford’s midway through the game. For Austin’s, Jason Taylor had two hits and Jake Jackson also smoked a single. Chase Martin and Nick Hartley scored for the Associates.
Minor Baseball
C.B. Bachman 19, Roopers 4
AUBURN — C.B. Bachman broke out offensively Monday morning in a 19 -4 victory over Roopers in minor baseball action. Christian Frey had a triple and tw doubles. Other teammates with multiple hits were Bradley Hood, Austin Sellinger and Sam Brooker. Owen Nguyen also pounded a triple. Rooper’s standouts were Branden Ritchie with two hits and a run scored as well as Harry Bigos.
