NEW SHARON — Funeral services for Rachel E. Luce Newcomb were held Friday from the Wiles Remembrance Center, Farmington, with Pastor Ira Hall of the Bean’s Corner Baptist Church officiating. The eulogy was given by the Rev. John Tolman, longtime family friend. Hymns included “How Great Thou Art,” “He Touched Me” and “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.” Members of Greater Purpose, from the Farmington Baptist Church: Cathi Burke, Louise McCleery and Craig Hutchinson, sang “In The Garden.” S. Clyde Ross and her daughter, Joy Turner, gave personal eulogies. Joy incorporated Phillipians 4:6 and 7 into her words of thanksgiving. The service concluded with Matt Redmond’s rendition of “Ten Thousand Reasons.” Pallbearers were Johnathan Turner, Jacob Turner, Jamison Turner, Thomas Newcomb, Benjamin Newcomb and Ervin Bean. Committal prayers were held at Fairview Cemetery, Farmington.
