LEWISTON — Genesis Health Care, Marshwood Center, 33 Roger St., announces the hiring of Nicholas Farrand, licensed social worker, as its new Transitional Care Unit director.

Farrand is a graduate of the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He has been employed in community social work for eight years, specializing in mental health and crisis services for the local community. For the past two years, he has dedicated his career to health care case management and social work in acute hospital settings.
