STETSON (AP) — State police are investigating the death of a 2½-year-old girl who was found in her mother’s car in a small central Maine town.
Police say the death was reported at about 3 a.m. Monday at a home on Mount Pleasant Road in Stetson, about 10 miles west of Bangor. Officials say autopsy results are pending further testing.
Police say the mother, 24-year-old Leanna Norris, has been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons at an undisclosed facility. Norris now lives in Auburn but formerly lived in Stetson.
Detectives have been interviewing family members, friends and relatives in piecing together the circumstances surround the death.
