WINDHAM — Calvin Field smashed a three-run triple in a crucial fourth inning as Windham held on to an 8-7 win over Locke Mills in a Zone 3 American Legion baseball game Thursday evening.

Windham was leading 6-2 when Locke Mills erupted with five runs with the help of Izaak Mills’ one-run double in the top of the sixth inning. But Windham got the lead right back in the bottom half when Jack Herzig unleashed a one-run double in the sixth to drive in the winning run.

Spencer Hodge, Field, Dennis Meehan and Shawn Francoeur all had two hits for Windham, and Joe Francoeur got the win on the mound.

Smith-Tobey 8, Andy Valley 5

TURNER — Smith-Tobey scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning Thursday to rally past Andy Valley, 8-5, in Zone 3 American Legion baseball.

Chris Paulus and Zack Holbrook launched the rally with back-to-back doubles. Wade Hunt and Keegan McDonough also had hits and Ethan Winglass drew a walk during the frame.

Liam McDonough and Aaron Barrett joined Paulus, Holbrook and Keegan McDonough with two hits apiece for Smith-Tobey.

Brandon Hodges ripped a fifth-inning home run for Andy Valley, which scored the go-ahead run in the sixth.

Hodges, Adam Volkernick and losing pitcher Jonah Williams each were repeat hitters for Andy Valley.
