I applaud Joseph Paradis for his dedication and commitment as the founder of the Veterans Memorial Park in Lewiston, and also all those who assisted him.
The park is not a glorification of war, but a powerful expression of gratitude in honoring and remembering all veterans who gave of themselves during war and peacetime to ensure our freedoms.
The general public is offered the opportunity to memorialize loved ones by having veterans’ name engraved on the memorial stones.
The park also ensures that the present and future youth learn what the price of freedom really is and of those who paid for it.
