TURNER — Bo Swanson, 62, a resident of Turner died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 2, at his home. He was a loving husband, father and grampa.

He was born Bellepoint, W.Va., Sept. 20, 1950, the son of Walter D. and Betty Jean (Tilley) Swanson.

Bo grew up in Winchester, Va., attended schools there and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. In 1982, he and his family moved to Maine. He was employed 13 years with United States Postal Service in Auburn, and more recently had been employed part time at Home Depot at the time of his passing.

He was an avid sports fan who loved the Baltimore Orioles as well as the outdoors which included hunting, fishing and just being out in the woods. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed playing acoustic guitar and playing pool.

Survivors include his wife and best friend, Sharon, whom he married July 28, 1989 of Turner; two sons, Eric Swanson and wife, Montse, of Spain, and Todd Swanson and wife, Tabitha, of Gorham; one daughter, Tara Bisson and husband, Jim, of Turner; one sister, Suzie Williams of Hinton, W.Va.; two half brothers, Steve and Randy Barker of Forest Hills, W.Va.; five grandchildren Erin, Julia, Devin, and Aloe Swanson as well as Levi Bisson; and his dog “Diego.”
