UPDATED 10:31 A.M.: The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department identified the body as Nathaniel Paradis of Livermore Falls. The Livermore Falls Police Department has been investigating his disappearance since June 2. Police do not suspect foul play.

LIVERMORE — The remains of a human body were found in the woods off Route 4 Monday afternoon.

A spokesman for the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the discovery by workers for Lucas Tree Experts, who were in the area near 83 Federal Road, also known as Route 4. The location is less than a half-mile from the Livermore Falls border.

“We have a couple detectives” assisting the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department, which were requested, Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said Monday night. He said he could not confirm whether the body was that of a Livermore Falls man missing since June.
