FARMINGTON — Two men accused of robbing Tranten’s Too in Kingfield in 2012 were indicted Tuesday by a Franklin County grand jury.

Kaleb Bowring, 20, of Norridgewock and Matthew Santamore, 22, of Vassalboro were each indicted on a felony charge of robbery and a misdemeanor charge of theft.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and Maine State Police conducted a joint investigation in the case and charged the two men while they were in Somerset County Jail in Madison serving time on unrelated charges.

Bowring is accused of robbing the store June 18, 2012, using a pellet handgun, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said in May.

About $800 was taken in the robbery.

Santamore is accused of driving the getaway vehicle, Nichols previously said.

Bowring began serving a six-month probation revocation in April. Santamore also is serving time on a probation violation.

Bowring’s bail was set at $50,000 cash or $250,000 worth of property after he appeared before a judge in Farmington District Court.

Santamore was charged via a summons in May at the Madison jail.

A conviction on the robbery charge carries up to 30 years in prison and a maximum $50,000 fine.
