About $150 million in grants will be given out nationwide. It’s part of the administration’s effort to ease the enrollment process when the previously uninsured seek coverage under the Affordable Care Act beginning Jan. 1.

The department said the Maine health centers will be able to hire 25 more workers to help more than 18,000 people find health insurance coverage. Mainers can go to the health centers to learn about their coverage options under new health care exchange, like Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
