NORWAY — The Teen Services Department of Norway Memorial Library and R.E.A.C.H. in South Paris will bring two movies and discussions to teens. The discussions will be facilitated by Molly Nelson of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services.

“The Other Sister” will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17. Following the movie, Nelson will lead an interactive discussion around the three major cornerstones of healthy relationships: respect, communication and trust/honesty. Viewers will have a chance discuss the definition of consent and what happens when consent is not given, exploring the definition of sexual assault.

“Philadelphia” will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31. Topics of discussion after the movie, led by Nelson, will include sexual harassment in the work place, discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation, as well as sexually transmitted infections and the social stigma that follows these.

Both movies will be shown in the Norway Memorial Library Teen Room. Popcorn and lemonade will be served. Both movies are rated PG-13.

Nelson can be available to talk to individuals if they desire a more confidential space to speak about these issues.
