RANGELEY — Rangeley Friends of the Arts will host bass-baritone John David Adams and keyboard virtuoso Sean Fleming in “Some Enchanted Evening — A Summer Serenade” concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Church of the Good Shepherd.

The concert will feature vocal selections touching on themes of evening, summer, and love. Highlights include arias by Mozart, Gounod, and Wagner, as well as art songs by Schubert and Ravel; American songs by composers including Stephen Foster and Paul Bowles; and Broadway classics by Cole Porter and Rogers and Hammerstein.

Adams is an acclaimed concert soloist, equally praised for portrayals in diverse opera and stage roles. His concert repertoire ranges from Baroque masterpieces to premiers of new works, in performances with orchestras, theater companies and musical organizations from California to Maine.

Fleming is a church organist and recitalist who has performed throughout the United States and can often be found accompanying a variety of choral groups. He has also earned a good reputation for assembling and conducting pit orchestras for musicals. He is the organizer and leader of the Sean Fleming Ragtime Orchestra and regularly performs with over a dozen area choral groups.

The concert will be followed by a meet-the-artists reception. The Church is on Main Street. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce and at the door.
