MEXICO — Region 9 School of Applied Technology directors welcomed new member Roberta Taylor on Wednesday night.

Taylor, who is also a member of the SAD 44 board in Bethel, was appointed to complete the three-year term of Lynn Arizzi.

Arizzi resigned last month because she is moving out of state.

Taylor will serve until next March, when the SAD 44 board will decide whether to reappoint her to the vocational school board.

In other matters, the resignation of Adult and Community Education math instructor Kim Hamel was accepted. She has taken a first-grade teaching position at Rumford Elementary School.

Board members approved the student handbook, staff handbook and the cooperative agreement with RSU 10 and SAD 44. Students from the two districts attend the Region 9 school.

Region 9 administrative assistant Melanie Babb said adult education classes are currently offered every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the River Road school.

The next meeting is tentatively set for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at the school.
