WAYNE — The fourth annual Summer Festival at the Carey Memorial Library will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, on the lawn of the library’s Williams House Property. The event is hosted by FOL.

This year, a special event is the Library 5K Run/Walk & Kid’s Scramble at 9 a.m. at the elementary school.

At 10 a.m., home-baked goods — including Loon Cookies — will be on sale at the library, along with a book sale.

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., three authors will have book signings, including Dawna Gardner with “Island Friends,” Betsy Bowen with “Back from Tobruk” and Priscilla Stevenson’s “Safe in a Box in the Attic.”

At 11:30 a.m., a loon calling contest will be open to all, and lobster lunch will be served at noon. The menu includes overstuffed lobster roll, chips, pickles, homemade blueberry cake and drinks for $15; chicken salad option is $8.

The event will also feature a quilt raffle and silent auction. FMI call the library at 685-3612 or Holly at 685-9005.
