East Wilton Union Church
Many churches host special events that are free and open to the public such as the East Wilton Union Church and their August 2013 “Concerts on the Lawn” series. The free concerts are held at 6 p.m. Sundays in August on the church lawn. All are welcome to attend. There will be an opportunity for a free-will offering. In case of rain, the concerts will be held inside. A time of food and fellowship will follow each concert.
August 4: The Hyssongs – A well known gospel family trio
August 11: Greater Purpose – A local gospel group, featuring many original songs
August 18: Mark Butler – A southern / country gospel singer
August 25: Journey Home – A local gospel singing family
Chairs are provided but you are welcome to bring your own lawn chair or blanket. For more information, call 207-645-4297.
Locke Mills Union Church
The annual Blueberry Festival from 7:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 will be held at the Locke Mills Union Church. There you will find blueberries, blueberry pancakes, donuts, pies, and baked goods. For more information, call 207-674-2259.
