NORWAY – Town Manager David Holt said Monday morning that the Board of Selectmen has agreed in principle with the proposed police bargaining unit contract.

Holt said both sides are reviewing the document and making some minor revisions. He expects it to be signed shortly and then details will be unveiled, he said.

The two sides have held five negotiation sessions.

The last contract was approved in November 2010. Among the changes, that contract provided an increase in the entry-level officer’s salary from $14.63 to $15.45 per hour in 2012. A detective position increased from $20.67 to $21.83 per hour, while the position of secretary increased from $13.75 to $14.51 per hour.
