NORWAY — A Western Maine Cash Mob, organized by W.J. Wheeler Insurance Agency, met at the Norway Municipal Parking Lot behind Fare Share on July 20. A total of 66 mobbers waited to hear where they would be shopping. Armed with their $20 bills, they mobbed the Norway Opera House stores, which included Gatherings, the Raven Collection, Fiber & Vine and Rough & Tumble.

The mobbers spent a total of $1,300 at the four stores. Not only does the Cash Mob help the business being mobbed, it also introduces new people that may have never gone to those stores before and will hopefully return again.

Afterward, everyone gathered in the courtyard across the street from the Norway Opera House for the After Mob Party, where they had scones, bagels with cream cheese and caprese skewers made by Cafe Nomad and donated by W.J. Wheeler Insurance Agency. Door prizes were awarded.

The next cash mob will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17. Like the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/westernmainecashmob, to stay up to date with all of the Western Maine Cash Mobs.
