JAY — One person was injured Sunday when two vehicles collided at Beans Corner at the intersection of Routes 133 and 156.

Claire Despres, 60, of Jay was driving south on Route 133 when a car driven by Spencer Reed, 16, of Middlebury, Vt., failed to yield the right of way and collided with Despres’ 2000 Ford Explorer, Sgt. Troy Young said.

Reed was driving a 2003 Subaru Outback and was coming off Chesterville Road, also known as Route 156, going across to Depot Street, also known as Route 156, that heads to Wilton, he said.

Reed was injured and taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was treated and released, Young said.

Despres and her passenger, Derek Shink, 57, of Jay, were not injured, he said.

Officer Wilmor Herrin issued Reed a summons on a traffic violation of failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign, Young said.
