PORTLAND (AP) — State of Maine officials will be on hand this month to offer information and guidance about changes occurring under the new federal health care law.
Maine Bureau of Insurance will hold public information sessions on the Affordable Health Care Act beginning Thursday at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Another session will be held Friday in Bangor and later this month in Auburn and Presque Isle.
Officials can answer questions about the new health insurance exchanges, proposed coverage plans being offered or other insurance-related questions.
An hour before each session, officials will take public comment on Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield’s proposal to discontinue its current individual market plans and offer people with those plans one of Anthem’s newly proposed plans instead.
