PORT CLYDE — A six-year-old boy injured in a fatal crash on the Port Clyde Wharf Sunday afternoon has been released from Maine Medical Center and his mother’s condition has improved, hospital officials said Saturday.
Wyatt Gold was released earlier this week, and his mother, Allison Gold, 50, has been upgraded to fair condition. On Monday, Allison was listed in critical condition and Wyatt in fair condition.
On Sunday afternoon, 61-year-old Cheryl Torgerson of New York City lost control of her car, struck and killed 9-year-old Dylan Gold of Cohasset, Mass. His mother and brother were injured. A fourth person, Jonathan Coggeshall, 68, of Port Clyde, sustained a hip injury. His condition was not available Saturday.
Torgerson underwent a blood test, although officials from the sheriff’s department said there was no indication that she was under the influence.
Torgerson said she did not recall what happened other than the car sped up, Chief Deputy Tim Carroll said at the time.
Torgerson’s 2007 Infinity was impounded and Maine State Police were expected to inspect it to determine if there had been a mechanical problem.
On Saturday, Carroll said there were no updates on the investigation.
