I have worked and lived in the Lewiston-Auburn area for some time, though I am not a native. Often, it seems, this fine community has not been given its worth.
Several weeks ago, I encountered a car problem and pulled over in Great Falls Plaza to see what was wrong.
The hood was lifted up and, in 15 minutes, four people asked if I needed assistance.
Having lived in metropolitan areas such as New York City, Boston and others, I was amazed at the genuine caring that I encountered.
Thanks to all who offered and, most of all, be proud of the caliber of people in these towns.
Bob Drake, Lewiston
