JAY — A Lewiston man has been cited on a civil violation related to an all-terrain vehicle accident on Aug. 16 when two children were injured.
Maine Warden Tom McKenney said Saturday that he issued a summons to Matthew Churchill, 31, on a charge of carrying a passenger under 18 without headgear.
Churchill was at a camp in Jay when he was driving an ATV. He had his son, Collin, 4, in front of him and his nephew, Nolan Breton, 7, behind him on the machine. Neither was wearing a helmet.
The ATV hit a stump and tipped over onto them, McKenney previously said.
The two boys were taken by ambulance to a Lewiston hospital and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
