1920 – 2013

LEWISTON — Laurette Boulay, 92, formerly of Auburn, passed away Monday morning, Sept. 2, at d’Youville Pavilion, following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 6, 1920, a daughter of the late Ulric and Odiana (Bergeron) Grenier. She grew up in Canada and attended schools there. On Sept. 2, 1940, she married the love of her life, Rene Boulay, and together they started and raised a family.

She worked for several years as a spinner in various textile mills. She eventually retired as a cleaner at St. Mary’s hospital. Laurette will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, her passion for knitting and her enjoyment of putting puzzles together.

She is survived by her two sons, Bertrand and his wife, Anita, of Auburn and Donald and his wife, Barbara, of Massachusetts; her daughter, Joline Bentley of South Hampton, Mass.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two brothers and seven sisters.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rene; three brothers; and four sisters.
