1924 – 2013
LEWISTON — Virginia “Ginny” Huskins, 89, of Mechanic Falls, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, at d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Biddeford, January 7, 1924, the daughter of Arthur and Emma Taylor. She married Richard Huskins, May 30, 1953. They resided on Peaks Island, moving to Auburn and then to Mechanic Falls. She was employed at Libby Mills and Etonic Shoes before her retirement in 1986.
She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 31, and a member of the Deering Grange in Portland. She loved cats and enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting crocheting and crafts. She was a wonderful cook.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard; daughter, Nancy King and her husband, Ronald, of Standish; son, David and his wife, Rhonda, of Mechanic Falls; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Blanche; and a brother, Arthur Taylor Jr.
