PORTLAND – Systems Engineering, an IT strategy and managed services provider, has named Auburn resident Craig Tribuno president of the company.

Tribuno will lead day-to-day business operations, while Systems Engineering’s founder, Harry McMann, will continue in the role of chief executive officer.

McMann praised Tribuno, who joined Systems Engineering in 1998 as vice president and chief operating officer, for his part in the company’s rapid growth. During his 15-year tenure, Systems Engineering has grown from 17 employees to 116. In 2008, Tribuno led Systems Engineering’s transition to an employee stock ownership program. Today, Systems Engineering is a 100 percent employee-owned company.

In his new role, Tribuno will have more time to pursue strategic initiatives such as the company’s growing involvement with cloud computing, big data applications and mobile initiatives for small and mid-sized business in professional services, health care, financial and government services sectors.

A University of Southern Maine graduate with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, Tribuno served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years and then joined Alpha One, where he ultimately became chief operating officer prior to joining Systems Engineering. Tribuno has served on the boards of directors for the East End Children’s Workshop and the Maine Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and serves on the board of the Ronald McDonald House of Portland.

He resides in Auburn with his wife.
