SAN FRANCISCO — Lewiston/Auburn native Ross H. Talarico, doctor of podiatric medicine, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
The ACFAS reserves Fellow membership status for foot and ankle surgeons who earn board certification from the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Talarico received his undergraduate degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts and graduated in 1996. He was accepted into the California School of Podiatric Medicine, where he completed his doctoral training in podiatry.
Following a three-year surgical residency at the prestigious Kaiser San Francisco Bay Area Foot and Ankle Residency program, Talarico passed the ABPS’ rigorous written examination to become board qualified. He sat for his oral examination in Chicago in June 2013 and after passing it, he achieved board certification.
Talarico is a faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco and has an academic appointment in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also the chief of podiatric surgery at the San Francisco VA Medical Center.
He resides with his wife and daughter in the San Francisco Bay area.
