LIVERMORE FALLS — Thousands of people are expected to turn out Saturday to take part in the annual Apple Pumpkin Festival at the Recreation Field.

The cultural celebration and harvest festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at the town Recreation Field on Foundry Road, accessed from behind the Town Office. The road is a one-way street for the day.

The event is sponsored by the Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce.

It will feature music, agricultural products, historical and education displays, antique tractors, games, food and a variety of vendors and crafters.

The Tiger Slide, Bounce House and Climbing Wall are among the highlights this year. New this year are Twister and Lazer Tag.

While the celebration is going on at the rec field, several community events will be happening.

Tours will be given at the Maine Paper and Heritage Museum, at 22 Church St., to highlight the papermaking industry history.

The Treat Memorial Library on Main Street will hold its book giveaway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Bailey Ford Brothers dealership in Livermore Falls will hold a Drive 4 UR Community to raise money for the nonprofit Good Neighbor Tri-Town Fuel Assistance Fund, which operates under the Tri-Town Ministerial Association in Livermore Falls.

Drivers ages 18 years and older with a valid license will be able to earn a $20 donation for the fuel fund when they test drive one of the featured vehicles. It is limited to one driver per household. The event will occur at the Livermore Falls Gazebo, off Main Street near the Town Office.

The St. Rose Senior High Youth Ministry will host a harvest supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Rose’s Parish Hall in Jay.
