LEWISTON — Rev. Doug and Sonia Taylor, directors of the Jesus Party Youth Outreach, plan on a clean up “trash” day set for Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m.
All those interested in helping or starting a clean up in their own neighborhood should meet at Jesus Party Headquarters, 291 Bates St. This will be the first of several events of this nature.
The objective is to use the residents living in the neighborhood as opposed to seeking outside help.
The Taylors will lead children from the stop sign on the corner of Bates and Birch streets to the stop sign at the corner of Bates and Maple streets.
The Taylors hope the idea will catch on and others from different streets will follow suit. This first attempt is about rallying up the residents between these two stop signs.
The ministry will provide pizza and snacks after the clean up to all those who pitch in and help. Those who would like to donate items associated to a clean up project should contact Rev. Taylor at 786-5568 or SisActs1@aol.com.
