1915 – 2013
LEWISTON — Beatrice E. Harris, 98, of 540 College St., Lewiston, died Friday, Sept. 27, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, following a brief illness.
Born in North Leeds on July 6, 1915, she was the daughter of Guy and Angie White Bennett. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School. In 1936, she married Wilfred Harris, who passed away in 1976. A member of the former St. Patrick’s Church, she enjoyed the company of her fellow Montello Commons residents, and took part in many activities there. During her life she was a talented seamstress, lifelong homemaker, an avid and fantastic golfer and a winning bingo player.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Thebald of Sheboygan, Wis.; a daughter-in-law, Karen Harris of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by two sons, Bill and George Harris; two brothers, Wesley and Clyde Bennett; and two grandsons, Brian Thebald and Scott Harris. Condolences may be expressed online at www.albert-burpee.com.
