LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education’s semi-annual Super Saturday will be held Oct. 26. More than a dozen hands-on classes, seminars and workshops will be held on a variety of subjects, including:

Aromatherapy: Beyond Lavender: Essential oils can reduce stress and help maintain immune heath. Join Donna Galipeau, clinical certified master aromatherapist, to discover the healing art of aromatherapy. 9 a.m. to noon. $27.

Basics of Alterations & Tailoring: This workshop is for those who would like to learn how to do basic repairs and alterations themselves. Participants can bring clothes they would like to alter, and the instructor will provide additional material for practice. Sewing machine required. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. $48.

Basics of Online Research: Join Pat Leclerc to learn how to use the Internet to research anything from travel (lodging options, restaurant reviews, don’t-miss attractions), to major purchases (professional and consumer reviews on cars, electronics, appliances and even services), to a new subject of interest. Participants may come with ideas on what they would like to research. Noon to -3 p.m. $19.

Cathedral Window Beginnings: Learn an exquisite traditional hand-quilting pattern in just one day. Sewing machine optional, supply list available upon registration. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $40.

Clay with Kids: This is an opportunity for parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles to spend a fun afternoon crafting with the kids, age 8 and up. Participants will make a one-of-a-kind bracelet out of polymer clay. Noon to 3 p.m. $24 per person. Each child must be accompanied by a guardian.

Conscious Housekeeping: Learn all about the math, science, tools and techniques of tending your home efficiently. New homeowners and veteran housekeepers alike are sure to come away with good information to streamline and improve their cleaning process. 9 a.m. to noon. $17.

DIY Baby Shower Gift: Diaper Cake: Bring a box of 80-100 disposable diapers, some gift items such as rattles, washcloths, spoons, teethers, etc., and learn step-by-step how to create this unique baby shower gift. Additional ribbons and decorations will be provided. 9 to 11:30 a.m. $20.

DIY Landscaping/Hardscaping: Join Dustin Carrier of Carrier Lawn and Landscape for a one-day workshop that will start out with a lesson on lawn and plant care, and then move on to provide suggestions and how-to information on beginner hardscaping projects. Participants are invited to bring a photograph of their property and any questions they may have. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $38.

Heartsaver CPR First Aid and AED Training: Become certified in CPR/FBAC skills for adult, child and infant, and use of an AED for adults and children. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $70.

Meditation and Yoga for Every Day Life: This workshop is designed for busy folks who may not have the time for a full-length course, but are interested in incorporating a daily yoga/meditation practice into their lives. Instructor Stasia Minkowsky will help participants learn the basic techniques for breathwork, stretching and postures so they can begin a daily practice at home. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $38.

MS Excel for Personal Use: MS Excel can be a powerful and time-saving tool when it comes to completing tasks like budgeting, keeping and organizing records, or preparing mailings like wedding invitations or greeting cards. Computer instructor Pat Leclerc will show participants how to channel this tool to make their lives easier. No Excel experience required. 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. $19.

Publishing Boot Camp: The world of publishing has changed dramatically over the past five years, and more and more writers are finding self-publishing to be a successful option for their work. Instructor Jim Baumer is an award-winning author and will walk participants through the process of self-publishing from the writer’s perspective. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $38.

Songwriting Workshop: Explore songwriting/poetry topics such as lyrics, rhythm, song form, melody and accompaniment. Participants may bring any rough drafts and an instrument if they like. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. $33.

Wrapped Handle Market Basket: Martha Chessie will return to teach LAE’s longest-running Super Saturday class, and help participants weave a truly unique basket from start to finish. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $48.
