INDUSTRY — A Farmington driver complained of pain but was not seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on the Industry Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Amanda Whitney, 18, of Farmington was driving a 1999 Jeep and attempting to leave a driveway near 1286 Industry Road to head back to Farmington about 4:15 p.m., Maine State Trooper Matt Casavant said at the scene.

She apparently didn’t see a vehicle coming down the road and pulled into the path of a 1999 Jeep driven by Dale Wilbur, 24, of Starks heading toward Starks, he said.

Wilbur attempted to avoid Whitney’s vehicle but struck the front, spinning it around. Wilbur’s vehicle clipped a guardrail and went off the road. He was not injured, Casavant said.

A passenger with Whitney, Shawn Kelley, 24, of Jay was not injured.

Whitney was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar Ambulance.

Members of Industry Fire Department helped with traffic at the scene.

Casavant expected both vehicles would be totaled. The accident is still under investigation, he said.
