1. Cheverus (7-0)

67, 54, 57, 48, 56, 49. That’s the Stags’ side of the scoreboard since the season-opening challenge from Portland.

2. Portland (6-1)

45, 45, 33, 68, 57, 42. That’s the Bulldogs’ side of the scoreboard since the season-opening loss to Cheverus.

3. Kennebunk (7-0)

Ball-hawking, balanced Rams looked ready for a long playoff run in win over Westbrook. The schedule doesn’t get any easier with a trip to Brunswick.

4. Marshwood (6-1)

After 131-6 stroll through mid-October, Hawks can use tonight’s short York trip to get playoff-sharp.

5. Brunswick (6-1)

Cony’s loss to Greely took the stress out of Friday’s Kennebunk showdown. Dragons are home for Eastern Class B playoffs no matter what.

6. Bonny Eagle (6-1)

In addition to spoiling their undefeated season, Scots’ loss to Thornton didn’t bode well for that closely contested Class A championship game we thought we were finally going to get this year.

7. Leavitt (7-0)

Last time Hornets reached Class C state final was 1984. They beat Jay 32-6 and Livermore Falls 14-6 that year.

8. South Portland (5-2)

No double-overtime hangover for the Red Riots againt Biddeford.

9. Winslow (7-0)

Doesn’t matter if you label it Class A or Class C or if both teams are undefeated or not. Winslow-Waterville is good as it gets in Maine high school football.

10. Thornton (5-2)

And now we know the middle-of-the-pack seed everyone wants to avoid in the Class A postseason.
