NEW SHARON — A 17-year-old Starks boy was injured Wednesday when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving on Starks Road.

The car driven by Justin Horner went off the road and hit a tree, Trooper Jed Malcore of the Maine State Police said. Horner was heading toward New Sharon when the accident occurred, he said.

It was reported at 12:10 p.m.

Horner got out of the vehicle on his own. He had non life-threatening injuries and was transported by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, Malcore said.

Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. and first responders from the New Sharon Fire Department assisted at the scene.
