ISLE AU HAUT — The Coast Guard is searching near the coast of Maine for a missing kayaker.
The Coast Guard says Matt Grabowski missed his scheduled check-in call on Thursday.
Grabowski, who is on a several-day kayaking and camping trip, was supposed to be kayaking around Isle au Haut. He’s expected to be in a 14-foot yellow kayak.
The guard says the 30-year-old made a phone call Wednesday night from Burnt Island, where he was camping, to check in.
He left Hatch Cove in Stonington on Tuesday and was supposed to return there Friday.
Anyone with information about his location should contact the Coast Guard Sector Northern New England at 207-767-0303 or VHF channel 16.
