State police said 19-year-old Abigail Ladner of Fort Fairfield was traveling south on Route 1A on Sunday afternoon when she was struck by a northbound pickup truck. The accident happened near the intersection of Route 1A and Lamoreau Road.
Police say Ladner suffered life-threatening injuries and is hospitalized in Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
The driver of the pickup, 67-year-old Barry Belyea of Portland, suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from a hospital.
Police are still investigating the accident. They said it does not appear alcohol or speed were factors.
