DURHAM — Voters in the towns that comprise RSU 5 — Durham, Freeport and Pownal — will head to the polls Tuesday for a second vote on two school bond questions that were narrowly defeated in June.

Question 1 seeks voter approval of a bond issue not to exceed $14,638,009 to construct and equip addition(s), renovations and improvements to the Freeport High School building, grounds and facility.

Question 2 seeks voter approval for additional bonding not to exceed $1,719,894 to pay for adding a synthetic athletic field and track. This would bring the total bond up to an amount not to exceed $16,356,903, down from the $16.9 million proposed in June.

The Durham polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Community School on Hallowell Road.

For further information, call Durham Town Clerk Shannon Plourde at the Town Office at 353-2561, extension 11 or 12.
