AUBURN — Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp announces the appointment of the following staff members in the TRiO Student Support Services Office:
Anne St. Pierre, director, is a licensed clinical professional counselor, a nationally certified counselor, and a certified school counselor in Maine. The author of several publications, she worked for a number of years as a planning engineer in Los Angeles before returning to Maine to complete her graduate degree.
She holds baccalaureate and master’s degrees from the University of Southern Maine and worked previously as director of project services for the Educational Talent Search Program at the University of Maine in Orono. She is a Westbrook native who now lives in Windham.
Donna Alexander, retention/transfer coordinator, returns to CMCC where she earned an associate’s degree with honors in human services in 2008. She participated in TriO and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in human services from the University of Maine at Augusta and was employed as a community case manager at Common Ties Mental Health Services in Lewiston. While there, she worked with young adults in conjunction with the “Moving Forward Collaboration.” A Lewiston native, she resides in Auburn.
Jennifer Gamez, retention/transfer coordinator, moves over to TRiO from her previous position at CMCC as a learning and advising specialist in the learning and advising center. She is a Texas native who earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in adult learning and teaching (with a concentration in HR development) from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She resides in Lewiston.
The TRiO Student Support Services program is a federally-funded initiative that provides a variety of services for academically underprepared students meeting specific eligibility requirements. Services include academic advising, transfer advising, tutoring, cultural activities and study skills assistance.
