DURHAM/POWNAL — A concert by the Christian band New Wine will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal.

New Wine is a Christian band made up of “mature” Christian believers of varied background, whose vision is to refresh the church, body of Christ, through a contemporary mix of old and new, and some original songs, put together in a service of fellowship and testimonies.

Members are not “professional” musicians, per se, but strive to give the best of their talents as an offering in concert. Over the past year, the band has had the privilege of being invited to play its unique brand of music with a message at community events where they were the only overtly Christian voice, including the Bands on the Run half-marathon and a Battle of the Bands, with good reception and feedback.

Fire & Rescue fund-raiser

Durham Fire & Rescue in conjunction with Cabela’s is hosting their annual gun raffle. Tickets are $20 each. The odds of winning are 1 in 100. Tickets are limited to 3000.

A name will be drawn each day starting Nov. 1 and ending on Nov. 30.Winner will have choice of gun or gift certificate.

Crafters wanted for fair

Crafters are wanted for the annual Durham Parent Teacher Association craft fair to be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.
