PARIS — The 13th annual Alcoholism and Addictions Conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the First Congregational Church.
Featured presenters include renowned addiction specialist Dr. Mark Publicker, who will speak on “Addiction & the Brain.” Former Judge J. D. McElwee will talk about his “View from the Bench.”
Attendees will hear from 12-step members, and opiate, marijuana, alcohol and food addiction will be discussed by a panel of community members who will discuss how whole-health / body-mind attention supports ongoing wellness.
The conference sells out at 100 seats every year. Register by calling Daphne at Common Ground Counseling, 739-2644.
The cost is $12 and scholarships are available. The fee includes food and coffee for the day. The conference is supported by Healthy Oxford Hills, a project of Stephens Memorial Hospital.
