AUBURN — Police arrested a Lewiston man Thursday morning after responding to a report that he was out of control inside a Broad Street apartment, where he was threatening to harm himself or others.

Michael David Giambra, 40, of 4 Fox Run Drive, was arrested at 456 Broad St. on multiple counts, including warrants charging forgery and theft. He was also charged with domestic terrorizing, refusing to sign a summons and violating conditions of release.

Police went to the Broadview Acres apartment complex at about 10 a.m. after receiving a report that Giambra was threatening a tenant and warning that there would be trouble if the cops were called.

Police surrounded the building. Shortly after arrival, they burst into the apartment, where they arrested Giambra without incident. He was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he remained Thursday night.

Giambra has a criminal history in the area that includes drug possession, assaults and theft, dating back to 2004.
