FARMINGTON — A Farmington woman was charged after police discovered that she was providing prescription drugs in a local apartment building Thursday while they were there on an unrelated investigation.

Taylor Hall, 18, was charged with unlawful furnishing when Farmington Police Sgt. Eddie Hastings came across Hall providing the drugs about 6 p.m. Thursday in an apartment at Sunny Hill Apartments on the Fairbanks Road, Bonnie Pomeroy, Farmington Police secretary, read from a report.

Sgt. Michael Adcock was called to the scene and arrested a second person, Shawn L. Burnell, 20, of Phillips on a charge of violating a condition of release after police discovered the conditions barred him from being at the apartment building, she said.

Police are unsure whether either Hall or Burnell were just visiting or staying with tenants there, she said.

Both were taken to Franklin County Detention Center. Bail was set at $150 cash for Hall. She remained there Friday morning and was expected to appear in court later Friday. No bail was set for Burnell, according to an officer at the detention center.
