JAY — Daughters of Isabella Circle 677, St. Rose of Lima, met Nov. 13, with the meeting called to order by Regent Denise Rodzen at 6:30 p.m. Chancellor Laurieann Castonguay led the group in the recitation of the rosary. Recording secretary Jackie Castonguay read the roll call.

A thank-you card from the family of John Stephen Gilbert was read. Rodzen read a letter she received from State Regent Jacqueline Dostie Smith, thanking everyone for the prayers sent to her and her family. Rodzen also received a letter from International Regent Christiane Chagnon.

Scribe Kim Couture told the group what she had put in the newspapers for the past month. Fern Doiron said she was thankful for the help she received at the Daughters and Knights supper honoring deceased members, and she thanked Louise Buzzell for her help. Doiron then thanked Lauriann, Maryette and Elaine Castonguay for the squash they donated and Denise Soucy for the homemade cranberry sauce.

Get-well cards were sent to Jeanne Bryant, Jeanne Ouellette, Irene Herbert and Pauline Richards. Annette Melanson spoke about the Daughters Christmas party. It was voted to hold the party at the VFW Hall in Jay on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The choices are roast pork or prime rib. The price for the roast pork is $12; prime rib is $18. The meal will be served with tossed salad, mashed potatoes, string beans and strawberry shortcake. A social hour will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. and meal will be served at 6. Everyone who had a mystery sister is asked to bring their gift.

The St. Rose Christmas Fair will be Saturday, Nov. 23, and anyone wishing to donate items should bring them to the hall from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.
