GRAY — Forecasters are keeping their eyes on a storm expected to blow into the area Tuesday and continue into Wednesday.
“We’re looking at rain and wind coming in,” Steve Capriola, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Gray office said Monday morning.
Forecasters are expecting a significant amount of rainfall and mixed precipitation — between 1 to 3 inches — across the state, while higher elevations could see a few inches of accumulating snow.
The storm is expected to end Wednesday evening, but could wreak havoc on Thanksgiving travel plans.
Capriola said black ice could be an issue Wednesday night on roadways as the storm comes to an end and temperatures drop.
Those flying out of airports in Bangor and Portland for holiday gatherings are advised to check with their airline in regards to delays or cancellations.
